All is well, Remain calm

My market commentary this week is simple – make sure you have dry powder,  keep a clear head and make good decisions. Sometimes the best reaction is no action or a least not a quick reaction. Clearly the global economy is in a tizzy and while it looks like things will get worse before they get better, remember this, it will get better. We will recover, sure it could take some time but in time, things will get better. In the meantime, remain calm, keep a clear head and don’t do anything silly or stupid.

With that, I am moving away from the market commentary to comment on actors, artists and talking heads on television and radio.  I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of people like Jon Cryer, Rosanna Arquette, Don Lemon, Howard Stern, and the late-night tv talk show hosts. The venom they have and spew against the President and all who work him is not only disgusting but their actions are disgraceful. But more importantly, why do they think people give a damn about what they think of the President and his actions or inactions. After-all actors are professional liars, it is their job to lie and Mr. Lemon well his bias is so far to the left that well he basically should be fired for lying to CNN that he is an unbiased journalist. Both Mr. Stern and his right-hand woman Robin Quivers spent two days last week lying over and over again about the spread and threat of the virus. These two are almost as bad as Stephen Corbett who frankly had Mr. Trump not won and in turn provided him with unlimited fodder, would have been fired from his cushy job and be banished to television parts unknown like Brian Williams or even worse a Netflix sitcom. The reality is that we look to these people to entertain us not preach to us. I have had enough of their political rants and raves and wish they would get back to simply entertaining us.

THINGS THAT DRIVE ME CRAZY:

I have been a loyal customer of BJ’s Wholesale Club and Costco for many years, but I am about to give up both memberships. It is not because I no longer need 48 count package of toilet paper or 6 lbs. of shelled but salted pistachios, it is because every time I am in the store – or want to leave the store they accuse me of being a criminal. Both of these fine establishments “require” customers to have their shopping carts inspected for shoplifted items before they can pass through the exit. Notice, I used the word “customer” in the previous sentence – i.e. people who pay good hard-earned money are being accused of shoplifting by the very people who they just paid for the privilege of letting them shop in the store. This is disgusting, despicable, and degrading. I don’t know about you, but I can’t fit three gallons of Tide or a four loaf package of bread anywhere but in the shopping cart once I have paid for it. We are better then this and BJ’s and Costco need to realize it.
