MEET YOUR PERSONAL ‘AMBASSADOR’—COMPLIMENTS OF SPG

Meet your personal ‘Ambassador’—compliments of SPGThe Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty program has just launched a new menu of perks for its ‘elite’ members — mainly because their top 2% travelers are dominating over 30% of their revenue.

International Starwood properties include Sheraton, Westin, W Hotels, Le Meridien and St Regis and here is how they intend to cater to mega-travelers:

– Your24: allows frequent travelers pick their own check-in and check-out times within a 24-hour timeframe — so if you check in at one property at 10 PM, you won’t have to check out until 10PM the next day.

– A personal ambassador: available at the end of the telephone and authorized to provide concierge assistance to users even when they’re not traveling. Required 100 nights at a Starwood property.

Additional perks include: free wifi in rooms, a complimentary breakfast, a welcome gift and room upgrades, depending on level.

Plus those that have 250 nights and five year of SPG Elite status will receive lifetime Gold and with 500 nights and ten years of SPG Platinum status will also receive a lifetime Platinum membership.

Blogger The Points Guy notes that, “While these are nice additions, in my opinion there are other hotel programs that lead in certain areas” including Hilton Gold, Hyatt, and Intercontinental.
