Truffle truffles: La Madeline au Truffe from Connecticut chocolatier Knipschildt has created the world’s most expensive chocolate, priced at $250 for just 1.9oz. It is a rare French Perigord (mushroom) truffle ensconced in a ganache made from Valrhona dark chocolate (70%), truffle oil, vanilla and heavy cream before being dunked in more dark chocolate and cocoa powder. The currency of flowers: While many will be flocking to buy up overpriced roses and orchids in Saudi Arabia they perfer to just turn their money into flowers with origami. Elegantly folded bills of 50, 100 and 500 Saudi riyals have been used to create an extravagant bouquet total approximately $266,000. Or there is always the endangered Gold of Kinabalu orchid from Malaysia ($5,000 per stem). However it doesn’t bloom until April…
